Publisher's Note
================
The .eu top level domain name, one year old this week, has
become "a well-established part of Europe's cyberspace",
according to Information Society Commissioner Viviane
Reding. New Commission figures show that booming demand has
made the suffixes the seventh most widely used in the world.

The success of .eu has not reduced registrations of national
domain names in Europe (such as .de, .fr and .it), which
have shown similar increases in most EU Member States. And
while well-known brands such as Air France, Versace, Dexia,
Milka and Greenpeace have set up successful .eu sites, a
recent study shows that use of .eu has also proved
particularly effective for small businesses. So don't
be shy, apply!
