according to Information Society Commissioner Viviane
Reding. New Commission figures show that booming demand has
made the suffixes the seventh most widely used in the world.

EU plans to cap the price operators can charge mobile phone
users while abroad cleared a key hurdle on Thursday when a
European Parliament committee backed the package.

The EU will later this month seek to set up a special WTO
panel to rule on a dispute with Delhi over India's high

EU regulators have filed formal charges against a suspected
cartel in the shipping sector, the first step in legal
action that could cost the firms millions of euros in fines.

The combined eurozone economy grew 2.7 per cent last year,
Eurostat said on Thursday, revising upwards a previous
