With more than 12 million people in Europe unable to find a job for more than a year, the Commission has put forward a Recommendation to help the long-term jobless back to work. This foresees that job-seekers without a job for more than a year receive individual assessment and a job integration agreement, with personalised plans to get back to work.

There is no new funding, but maybe this can help jobless people into work again. Anything which highlights the plight of the long-term unemployed, who make up the hard core of Europe's jobless, is welcome.
