Conscio Technologies releases Information Security Awareness Meter

logoConscio Technologies, a publisher of information-security solutions, has joined forces with Hapsis, a sensitive security information (SSI) specialist, to create the Information Security Awareness Meter (ISAM). The ISAM analyses the information-security culture of a company before providing an evaluation of findings and a detailed action plan aimed at security improvement.

Alexandre Gras, Business Development Manager at Conscio Technologies, explains, “All businesses try to develop a security culture amongst their staff that seeks to encourage best practice, but it is very difficult to know the definite level of security awareness or best practice amongst employees.”

In order to meet this challenge, Conscio Technologies, publisher of Sensiwave, the integrated software solution for internal communications, and Hapsis, a consultancy firm specialising in SSI, have produced a unique and innovative service: the Information Security Awareness Meter (ISAM).

Combining the expertise embedded in Conscio Technologies’ Sensiwave software with the know-how of Hapsis’ consultants, the ISAM solution has been designed to test and evaluate the level of information-security awareness of a company’s employees.

The ISAM process begins with an online survey of approximately 30 questions that are designed to analyse three areas in detail: the awareness, the knowledge and the behaviour of employees vis-à-vis information security.

The campaign is managed dynamically, including the registration of the consciouser profiles. Differences that lead to variations in survey questions are analysed, for example if the HR and IT teams do not receive the same answers from employees in a survey (or series of surveys). The campaign also includes the launch (and subsequent re-launches) of the survey, in order to engage all participants, therefore providing accurate results.

The results of the investigations are heavily analysed before the client is provided with a detailed report that features a precise diagnostic of the surveys’ conclusions. In accordance with the results, Conscio Technologies and Hapsis’ information-security experts determine specific areas that require improvements, making subsequent recommendations to the client entity.

At the attractive price of £3,500, all inclusive, the ISAM package provides the client with a comprehensive mapping of the target population’s awareness. This mapping covers precise information-security themes; it also provides general data about levels — within the staff — of information-security-related sensitivity and behaviour.

A true innovation in the information-security market, the strength of the ISAM solution resides in the broad range of the questions asked, in the three-dimensional analysis of the responses, and in the high return on investment the package offers.

The ISAM makes it possible for businesses to establish a precise diagnostic of the situation at a given moment. The ISAM also constitutes a tool that facilitates subsequent decisions concerning security improvements.

Be it in the context of a one-off internal inquiry, or from the viewpoint of a long-term security-culture-development project, Conscio Technologies and Hapsis now propose an innovative way of measuring the global awareness and maturity of staff concerning issues linked to information security.
