Touch Screen Kiosks Still Boosting Services at Surrey Sports Park

Over a year ago the University of Sussex installed several touch screen kiosks onsite to help people get a day ticket and register online easier at the sports park.

The improved online booking system meant that members could cancel booked activities online at zero-cost as well as register without difficulty in a quick and easy to use process.

The reception kiosks, provided by Protouch, featured re-book functionality ensuring that members could swipe their card and re-book an activity without assistance from a staff member. What is more, they offered fast-track sessions in which members could swipe their card and choose from a range of activities and classes available that day.

And the ticket pick-up feature has helped sports men and women confirm attendance and obtain tickets for classes without having to wait in long queues. Customers can now book online and pick their tickets up from the units.

Iain Woodley, Surrey Sports Park Operations Director, said: “Since being installed 18 months ago, the kiosks have been a great success, reducing queues at reception, allowing people to book and collect tickets for activities in advance, and make repeat booking a simple task for guests in the building.”

The University of Sussex has over 12,000 students so the innovative technology will certainly help its thousands of users.
