Brits Are Struggling With Enough Living Room Space in Their Home

24 April 2012, 17:23 CET

Many Britons would appreciate more living space to entertain guests, according to a recent study. Findings by Easistore, a storage firm, reveals that 25% of Brits are struggling to find enough space in their homes for recreation.

The survey found that 44% of homeowners wish for more space for comfortable seating whereas 25% of men would like extra space to install an entertainment or television system. According to reports, new builds in the UK are up to eight sq. metres small than the recommended size  and with new houses being smaller than ever before, it is important to spring clean your garage and take advantage of its capabilities.

A garage can host the car as well as bits and bobs but it can also be used as an efficient living space to entertain guests or be used as a small gym. Why not transform the space into a bar or operate your own beauty business from the room?  Use the room as a play area for the little ones, or simply as a peaceful haven to read and relax in away from the children? The possibilities are endless.

Clear all the clutter out of the garage that has accumulated from the house and renovate the space to make it useful.  Garages do not have to be cold, dirty and hopeless spaces; instead they can be additional living rooms to improve your quality of life.  And when you are revamping the space, consider installing bespoke side hung garage doors to complete the décor.

Select Garage Doors are specialist manufacturers of side hinged and up and over garage doors. The professionals take great pride in using the highest quality materials and all doors are individually made to order- so it doesn’t matter if your garage door is unique in size, all are made to measure.
