Britons Enjoy Sunny May Weather after a Miserable April

18 May 2012, 17:19 CET

The Great British weather has been a mix of high temperatures and sunshine with rainfall and cool evenings. April was the wettest on records in 100 years but after weeks of chilly temperatures and gale force winds it seems that spring has finally sprung.

So far in May the nation has been able to enjoy a sunny climate and many people have been able to bask in heats of up to 18 C (64F). Families have flocked to countryside resorts like Blackpool and Dorset to make the most of the promenades, piers, and sun, sea and sand.

Sun-starved Britons will definitely be taking advantage of the fine weather before it disappears again by hosting garden barbeques and outdoor picnics with friends.

Forecasters have predicted that the dry sunny weather will not last long though and more rain is expected as well as severe gales. According to the Met Office, Wales and Midlands will soon be blustery and wet; and Scotland will be hit by strong gales and rain too. Temperatures are reportedly going to drop to below the average for this time of year.

So before the UK weather takes a turn for the worse, benefit from the climate by tending to the flowers in your garden and eating alfresco. There is no better time than now to enjoy the outdoors so why not dust off the children’s paddling pool and the garden furniture and head out into your backyard this weekend.

But if you are entertaining friends and family in the garden, make sure they don’t get left in the dark when the night draws in. Keep the party going with some garden lighting and ensure that everyone remains warm with some garden heating products too!

Electric Point is one of the largest wholesalers in the UK and the experts have a vast range to choose from at affordable prices. Don’t get hot and bothered during the summer, keep cool and collected with some air conditioning and this accounts for workforces too with office fans.
