British Gas was left red-faced when the error ‘brittish’ was emblazoned on one of their vans. The blunder, of the name of the country and of the brand, was spotted in Newcastle by a bemused passer-by.
The company included the slip-up in the company’s web address inscribed on the back of the Volkswagen car and it was highlighted when a citizen posted the embarrassing picture of the blooper on social networking site Twitter.
@MrSteveDrayton wrote: “Looking after our spelling, thanks British Gas #plonkers” and a representative of the company replied: “@MrSteveDrayton Thank you for tweeting a picture of our van – oops! We’re getting it fixed now. Appreciate the tip off. Have a good weekend.”
