Amazing toilet built in luxury apartment looks down on 15 storey drop

Designed by Hernandez Silva Arquitectos, the cloakroom suite is supported by a glass floor with a hair-raising drop beneath. The room was built above a disused elevator shaft with a 15 floor plunge.

The penthouse is situated at the top floor of a 1970s Mexican colonial building in Guadalajara, Mexico. According to the architects, it has been made to play with the concepts of simplicity and transparency.

According to the website, the architects described the work by saying: “A characteristic feature of the project is that a volume that was originally intended for a second elevator, and was never installed, becomes a powder room with a glass floor that looks down all the 15 levels.

“The PPDG penthouse is a great versatile modulated space, with great views and all this with the concepts of transparency and the simplicity of materials.”
