RISK ANALYSIS UNIT
The task of the Risk Analysis Unit is to provide the foundation for Frontex operational action, as well as delivering to all principal customers the analytical knowledge on the current border security situation at the external borders of the EU.
The unit is divided into two Sectors: one Sector deals with the Analysis and Planning activities in order to support relevant Units in initiating projects and deliver periodical and tailored analytical products; the second sector deals with Operational Analysis and evaluation of completed joint
operations and pilot projects.
The objective of each Sector, in the scope of duties as described above, is to generate accurate and timely intelligence products (reports, threat and risk assessments) which provide the foundation for Frontex operational action and further development of appropriate intelligence methodologies that enable Frontex to meets its objective.
DUTIES
Reporting to the Head of Risk Analysis Unit the Strategic Supporting Analyst/ Operational Supporting Analyst is responsible for:
• development and implementation of risk analysis activities in particular by contributing to the implementation of the tasks assigned in the Programme of Work;
• providing tailored, high quality analysis on the nature and scope of illegal immigration and associated cross-border criminal activities;
• collecting and processing the necessary data according to the best practices in the field;
• preparing risk assessments, reports, letters, briefing notes and responses to enquiries;
• providing analytical support in the planning, during the operational phase and the final evaluation of joint operations/pilot projects;
• coordinating the organisation of, and taking part in meetings, workshops, seminars and network cooperation in the field of sector activities;
• following the latest developments in the area of modern, intelligence methodologies;
• implementing the working cooperation with other Frontex units/sectors promoting the best practices and knowledge-sharing;
• providing editing support.
