The European Snacks Association (ESA) represents the interests of manufacturers and service providers in the savoury snacks industry.
The market for savoury snacks in the EU is estimated at around 12 billion euros and changing consumer lifestyles towards snacking continue to provide opportunities for further category growth.
ESA has offices both in London and Brussels where it is staffed by a small team of dedicated professionals.
The increasing importance of Brussels and the growing amount of legislation being driven from the EU, demands that ESA is appropriately represented with key stakeholders and other relevant organizations in the regulatory and policy making arena in Brussels.
A new post is being created for a Scientific & Regulatory Affairs Manager based in Brussels reporting directly to the Secretary General of ESA.
Key Objectives
The job holder will acquire, understand, and disseminate relevant information to members covering the areas of technical, scientific and legislative interests. This will involve the gathering of relevant information, the development of common ESA positions and generating of support for the same.
Representation of ESA interests wherever appropriate and whenever necessary is also key.

Access all relevant information sources

Distil information and focus on issues affecting members and disseminate

Develop and maintain a network of relevant contacts within EU institutions and other key organizations including CIAA, Codex, etc.

Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders, decision makers, and opinion formers

Facilitate development of industry positions through all means necessary and generate members support for it

Communicate industry positions to relevant organizations and look for possible alignment where appropriate, and or understanding of non-aligned positions that might affect us

Ensure clear and concise feedback to ESA members and make recommendations on necessary action

Facilitate interaction and co-operation between ESA members and decision makers as appropriate
