The Events Officer is responsible for conceptualization, planning, promoting and managing of all public events organized by the European Food Safety Authority at European and international level.  The  jobholder will oversee the organization of conferences, seminars, exhibits or any other events held by the Authority on its own behalf or with external partners.  Events  play an important role in helping to expand EFSA's outreach, notably amongst its institutional (European Commission, European Parliament, Member States) and stakeholder partners but also among international counterparts.  EFSA organizes events such as scientific, stakeholder, corporate and risk communication events but also events jointly organized with Member States to increase the Authority’s visibility and understanding of its mission and achievements.  EFSA also participates in and supports  the organization of conferences, in particular scientific conferences addressing key topics related to the Authority’s work programme. 
 
The job holder works closely with the Press office and Web teams within the Communications Directorate.  As a service provider for all EFSA Directorates, the jobholder has close contacts with, in particular, EFSA scientists, Legal and Policy Affairs and the Scientific Committee and Advisory Forum Units.  The Events Officer is also the direct contact for external providers such  as events organization agencies, overseen by the Leader of Events Team.
