Role Overview

The MEI Team is a leading provider of finance for municipal and environmental infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. It finances projects in both the public and private sectors in all areas of infrastructure including Moscow and is active across all of the Bank’s countries of operation.

A Principal Banker is sought, with a proven track record, to play a leading role in structuring and closing transactions in both the public and private sectors, using the full range of financing structures available to the Bank. Principal Banker will be responsible for making a contribution to the development and management of the Team’s project portfolio in the area of  PPP development (using the full spectrum of equity and debt products), as well as public sector infrastructure transactions.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Originate and execute new transactions, existing projects and proactively engage in the oversight. 
  • In any given project, fully capable of working throughout the whole project life cycle. This will be accomplished through project screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, preparation of documentation, monitoring and disposal (if applicable) of projects in line with the approved Country Strategy.
  • The subsequent monitoring of projects is also an integral part of the responsibilities. This is a strong transaction-orientated role in the largest country of the Bank’s operation. 
  • He/she will also be requested to provide input on strategic issues and policy dialogue concerning the Bank’s corporate business in Russia. 
  • He/she will be expected to guide and direct less experienced staff working on a transaction, and become fully involved in the detailed processing work, as and when required. Important component of the job will be to train junior bankers within the operation teams.
