Job description:
The Head of Technical Training reports to the Approvals and Standardisation Director. He/she will be in particular responsible for:
- Managing the Department and ensuring that the strategy, policies and procedures of the Directorate are strictly adhered to and strongly implemented throughout the various activities performed;
- Providing advice and guidance to EASA directors and managers on technical training matters to ensure that their decisions are based on sound training practises;
- Providing advice and support for the training and development of all technical and professional staff across EASA to ensure that the best possible training is provided and compliant with best practice;
- Contributing to the development of training policies and procedures to ensure they are kept in line with business needs, new legislation and best practice;
- Developing, designing and implementing competency based training programmes that meet EASA’s and individual staff needs, in strict co-operation with all Agency Directorates;
- Producing an annual Technical Training Plan;
- Developing in-house training capabilities or finalising outsourcing research, when
- Managing and planning EASA’s technical training programmes and giving advice to relevant bodies (NAAs, etc.) on training matters and professional competency issues;
- Providing effective evaluation tools to measure all training and development to ensure that the desired training objectives are met;
- Developing, designing and implementing seminar programmes and workshops for NAAs, stakeholders and third parties;
- Acting as deputy of the Approvals & Standardisation Director for all technical training matters;
- Participating in the ad-hoc working groups within or outside of the Agency as deemed necessary for the proper interfacing of the Department with the various stakeholders;
- Ensure that best practice is shared across the NAAs and the EASA Departments;
- Contribute to the technical management of EASA;
- Managing and developing the staff of the Department, which encompasses tasks such as coordinating the work of the Department, establishing individual objectives, performance appraisals, identifying training needs etc.
