The symposium will be devoted to the ethical and legal aspects of clinical research in paediatrics and is co-organised by the Mediterranean Ethical Space (EEM) and the EU-funded TEDDY ('Task-force in Europe for drug development for the young) Network of Excellence as part of European Days 'Ethics, science, health and society'.

The symposium will aim to facilitate debate and exchange between national and European institutions, ethics committees, researchers, sponsors and civil society on the European Commission's 'Science and Society' Action Plan.

It also intends to present advances made in the recently approved EU recommendations 'Ethical considerations for clinical trials on medicinal products conducted with the paediatric population' and their integration in the current ethical and scientific debate.
