VAT Registration.

I live in the United States & have no ties with anyone over seas.<BR>I am trying to register a Country Code Top Level Domain for a web page. The requirements to register a CCTLD of .it, is that I have a VAT. I've done some research & found out what a VAT is, but I cannot find out how to apply for one.<BR>Is citizenship in a European country a requirment for a VAT, or can a citizen of the United States receive a VAT as well?<P>Any information is greatly appreciated.<P>Thanks,<P>-Don Norman. <br>Don Norman<br>
