minimum warranty period for equipments

When selling equipment to industrial companies (we are not talking about private consumers), how long should the manufacturer guarantee the equipment ?<BR>I am considering optical test equipment in this particular instance and I have been told that 2 years is mandatory since January 1st, 2002. <BR>Is there a european regulation I could refer to ? Are there regional specific regulations ? Which of the european or regional regulations would have precedence ?<P>Thank you for your help. <br>Valérie Richer<br>
